What the Dickens?
Looking forward to listening to Robert Powell later, speaking in May Street Church, Belfast about Dickens' villains. Coincidentally Dickens read from some of his works in the Victoria Music Hall (sadly now no more) on one of his visits to Belfast, just across the street from tonight's venue.

What a wonderful evening it was! While the venue had changed (Elmwood Hall) that didn't spoil our enjoyment. Robert Powell brought Dickens' characters to life - Pip, Magwitch, Oliver, the Artful Dodger, Nicholas Nickleby, Uriah Heap, Mr Pickwick to name just a handful he portrayed. I loved the short story he read 'Captain Murderer' and now want to go and read some more of Dickens' short stories.
